Racing at Moonee Valley today started with the Inglis Banner and a win for Elits Falls over Masthead in second and Manor Lady following in third. Masthead just couldn’t get a break in this run, but was impressive regardless.
Race 2- Arrow Training Services Stakes Results
The Arrow Training Services Stakes had Zubbaya finishing well out in front in a dominating performance. Following in second place was Absolutely, and odds-on favourite Amber’s Waltz managed to finish in third.
Race 3 – 1300 Australia Stakes Results
It was all action in the 1300 Australia Stakes today (or Red Anchor Stakes if you know it from before). Coming home first with a nice margin was That’s Not It, who was followed by Happy Trails in second place and Lone Rock finishing by the slimmest margin in third.
Race 4 – Crystal Mile Results
The Crystal Mile was a breathtaking affair, with Sound Journey taking the win in style thanks to a hell of a run from far back. Second place went to Trader, while Drumbeats managed to take third place.
Race 5 – Schweppes Stakes Results
The Schweppes Stakes was a great little run that saw Black Caviar putting in a dominant effort to win, with second place Hot Danish and third place True Persuasion far behind.
Race 6 – AAMI Vase Results
The AAMI Vase was an incredible run for first place finisher Rekindled Interest, who ran from far back in the final straight for a dominant victory. Following next was Lion Tamer in second, who led for much of the race, and Hollowlea next in third.
Race 7 – Cathay Pacific Airways Cup
The Cathay Pacific Airways Cup didn’t look too good for punters at first, but Precedence charged ahead just before the final turn to take the lead and improve upon it. Coming home second was Above Average, and Cape Cover finished third.
Race 8 – FEATURE RACE – 2010 COX PLATE RESULTS
The 2010 Cox Plate was well worth the wait, despite a fairly leisurely start when More Joyous set the early pace. That easy pace wasn’t to last, though, and soon enough So You Think was far in front and widening the gap. The favourite finished far in front, with Zipping next in second and Whobegotyou in third place.
Race 9 – Pulse Pharmacy Stakes
The Pulse Pharmacy Stakes saw Lady Lynette take it again as she barreled on down the home straight to take the race in style. Finishing behind in second was Delta Gee, and Music Review came in next to take third place.
